Mr. Logeswaran from Ganeshapuram of Vavuniya district sent a complaint letter to the Chief minister’s ministry of the Northern Provincial Council (NPC) regarding a housing issue in their village. As there was no action taken, after 19 days he made a telephone call to the NPC and asked about the action taken for the letter. The person who received the call stated that there was no such letter received by the ministry.
Then Mr. Logeswaran filed an RTI with the help from Vavuniya TISL requesting the copy of incoming letter registry of the ministry for that period. Within the prescribed time period he received the registry and found that his letter had also been registered in the letter registry.
This information made him to file another RTIs to the NPC based on the letter.
