Road Works Expedited: a result of an RTI

Renovation work of the Vairavar Kovil road in the 2nd cross street of Vavuniya commenced in October 2017. It is nearly 200 meters and comes under the purview of the Vavuniya Urban Council. The contractor who won the bid did not continue the work. The work was merely commenced, and no progress was made thereafter.

A Professional miracle: A lost letter found through an RTI

Mr. Logeswaran from Ganeshapuram of Vavuniya district sent a complaint letter to the Chief minister’s ministry of the Northern Provincial Council (NPC) regarding a housing issue in their village. As there was no action taken, after 19 days he made a telephone call to the NPC and asked about the action taken for the letter.
