The same team continued on Day 04. They were assisted by local contacts Naushadh and __. The locations covered were
- Addalachenai
- Akkaraipattu
- Kalmunai Bus Stand
In Addalachenai, the team divided responsibilities in order to be more productive. A workshop was scheduled for trainee teachers at the National College of Education; this workshop was conducted by Priya Paulraj. There was particular engagement by the lecturers and staff of the college, and an RTI request was facilitated on the spot. The information request was in relation to an interview for a government position, and the process to be followed.
Meanwhile, the RTI truck was deployed by the side of the main road at the heart of the town, and this drive proved to be very successful. A large number of passers-by stopped to collect dockets, and different groups of people had questions on RTI, which were handled by Vinothini.
The team then continued the docket distribution in Akkaraipattu, with the RTI truck stationed near the main clock-tower.
The team was then rejoined by Priya, who conducted a briefing on RTI for law students at the BCAS campus in Kalmunai, which was organized by the student counsellor of the campus. The law students engaged in a vigorous back and forth during the discussion, and were very grateful for the opportunity.
The final location for the day was the main bus stand in Kalmunai. Once again, police approval was sought and obtained to deploy the RTI truck, and the team engaged travelers and passers-by in discussions about RTI.
This concluded the Ampara leg of the campaign.
