TISL’s Vavuniya office is situated on the Vairavar Kovil road on the 2nd cross street of Vavuniya. Renovation of this road commenced in October 2017 but was stalled ever since. This severely hampered the clients’ accessibility to the office as side canals were open and debris was around the road and in front of the gate. The request of Ms. Vinothine (Project Assistant, TISL Vavuniya) to remove the debris was met with an angry outburst by the workers. Consequently, an RTI application was filed with the Urban Council, requesting information about the contractor and details of the contract via post. Even before the receipt of acknowledgement, on the day after the RTI was filed, the debris in front of the office was removed and roadwork was completed.
