An RTI facilitated by TISL for Shreen Saroor, a human rights activist and a TISL Board member, resulted in an appeal hearing before the Commission. The information requested was in relation to the transitional justice mechanisms that the Government of Sri Lanka committed to in the UN HRC resolution 30/1 that it sponsored with respect to the Truth Commission, Office of Missing Persons, Special Court and Reparations. Following a partly successful hearing, she was able to obtain the draft Reparations Bill from the Office of the Prime Minister before the Commission. She has since translated the Bill and made it widely available. It has been published in the Gazette, since, and it is also available on the website of the RTI Commission.
